‘World Bunts Day’ a convention of worldwide bunts was celebrated in Kohli State oh U.A.E. World Bunts day was celebrated in Abu Dhabi Armed Forces Club grounds on April 24th 2014. This was also marked as a 40th Bunts meet.
Dr. B. R. Shetty and Sarvothama Shetty welcomed the audience to the grounds of Abu Dhabi Armed Forces Club at the arched entrance.
Shri Shri Shri Dr. Vishwa Santhosh Bharati inaugurated World Bunt day with lighting the lamp in the presence of Dr. B.R. Shetty and other respected guests. On this day there was an assembly of prominent people of the Bunt community from all over the world
Smt. Sangeeta Shetty and prayed, Smt. Supriya Kiran Shetty welcomed. Children performed a welcome dance.
The book and brochure containing addresses of Bunt Sanghas from all over the world was released by Shree Dr. Vishwa Santhosh Bharathi Shreepada.
On the occasion of World Bunt Day all important guests were felicitated. Achievers in various fields Manoj Shetty, Vikranth Shetty, Varna Shetty, Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Hegde were facilitated.
On the stage Bunts from all corners of the world were present. It was a great sight to be witnessed. In their presence, an interaction session was organised. Questions from the audience were answered by bunt leaders from the dais. Interaction was related to bunt way of life, culture, agriculture, language, today’s youth, responsibility of parents.
U.A.E. bunts Associations members who were forever giving encouragement to art and culture of Bunts in Gulf nations were given awards on the occasion. The bunts who were undertaking programs were given mementos
Shree Vijayanath Vittal Shetty received “Bunt Vibooshan” Award for his services to public, religion and sports. He is the administrator of Shree Bhootanatheshwara temple at Mijar, Mangalore. Chairman and Managing Director of Vijayanath Interiors and Exteriors Private Limited.
On the same occasion, Shri Ganesh Rai was felicitated by Dr. B. R. Shetty for his contribution as Art Director in designing broachers, invitation letter, felicitation certificate, press note format and other art related works.
This year there was a list of new awards to the entrepreneurs who have established themselves in various fields of business in U.A.E. Shekar Shetty, Director of Arab Udupi community restaurant, Sujeth Shetty, Director of Gantoot Building materials, Sudeer Shetty, CEO of U.A.E. Exchange Global Operations, Sarvotham Shetty and others were felicitated for their achievements.
Sudeer Kumar Shetty was felicitated who had received NRI award and St. Aloysius award. President of Mumbai Artworld, Shri Vijaya Kumar Shetty was also felicitated for his contribution as a director of cultural events.
U.A.E. based 5 teams had performed folk dance and had received appreciation from the people gathered.

The programme ended with a mind blowing performance from the Bale Thelipale famed winning team of Prashamsa, the crew of the team received mementos as well.

As per the decisions and arrangements of all the Bunt members, The Bunts Day was celebrated grandly and has created a history.
