Over 250 of the world’s leading Islamic scholars and thought leaders have gathered to attend the forum which started yesterday in Abu Dhabi.
General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received today al Al Bahr Palace a group of scholars who are participating in the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies.
Over 250 of the world’s leading Islamic scholars, academics and thought leaders have gathered to attend the forum which started yesterday in Abu Dhabi.
General Shaikh Mohammed and the group of scholars exchanged cordial talks on agenda and activities of the forum in addressing extremist ideas which breach tolerant tenets of Islam and reflecting the true Islamic values which preach and promote tolerance, moderation, peace, goodness and peaceful co-existence.
In attendance were Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region; Shaikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor; Shaikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Lt General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister; Shaikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development; Shaikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; and a number of Shaikhs, ministers and senior officials.
