KarnatakaSangha Sharjah is proud to announce that Shri SathishPoojary, our recent past President and Founder Member of the Executive Committee of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah is the recipient of the prestigious ‘CHAANAKYA’ Award instituted by the Public Relations Council of India recognizing his outstanding contributions and achievements in fields of Social Service, philanthropy, promotion of Culture, Education, Blood Donation Drives and Sports. The Award was jointly presented by MrsNeelaSatya Narayan, Maharashtra State Election Commissioner, Mr. J.S. Saharia, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Maharashtra and Mrs. Rajshree Birla, Director of Birla Group, in a glittering ceremony held at the Orchid Hotel, Mumbai recently.
Shri SathishPoojary is no stranger in the Social Circles of Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi in particular and U.A.E. in general. A veteran resident of Dubai for over quarter of a century, working as a Technical Manager with Pioneer Insurance, Dubai serving a large network of trusted client base. Shri Poojary’s entrepreneurial acumen enabled him to successfully foray into the Hospitality Business as well, establishing a Restaurant giving gainful employment to over 20 employees.
Shri Poojary is an Advisor, Founder Member serving on the executive committees of several regional associations like Billawas Dubai & Northern Emirates, NamaTuluver, Shri Sathya Narayana Pooja Samithi, UAE, DhwaniPrathistana, Dubai etc. relentlessly over the last couple of decades.
His social bent of mind is well-complemented by an equally accomplished spouse Smt. SuvarnaPoojary – a multi-talented stage artist of repute, Convenor of the VaraMahalaxmiPoojaSameethi, Committee member of GammathKalavider – an amalgam of Amateur stage artistes no less accomplished than the professional drama troupes that frequent the shores of Gulf. He has two children –daughter MsShruthi – a gifted student adjudged as the ‘Outstanding Student’ of Jain University, Bengaluru, where she is pursuing her graduation degree course and son Mast. Shravanstudying in the Indian High School and a good football player representing his school at the national level. The extra-curricular activities and the socio-cultural
participation trait runs deep in the family with each of the members a noted achiever in his or her own rights.
Kind, sober and soft spoken Shri Sathish Poojary have received honor from several Associations like Vijaya College Mulki, Dwani Prathistana Dubai, Billawara Balaga Abu Dhabi, Biallawara Maha Mandala Mulki, Billawara Association Mumbai, Billawas Dubai & Northern emirates, Billawa Sangha Udupi etc.
Shri Poojary has been instrumental in mobilizing several socially conscious and noble activities helping the needy, poor, sick, sports & education related causes serving through the multifarious associations that he and his family are connected with, relentlessly for the last over 2 decades. The list of beneficiaries of his largesse is quite long. Suffice it to say, Shri Poojary has rendered and continues to render yeoman service to humanity and we, at the Karnataka Sangha Sharjah can do no better than to wish Shri Poojary& his family continued good health, more strength to their arms to continue to help the needy and the poor, peaceful, contended life ahead, in the service of humanity.
