Two cars collided, near Mall of Emirates; both drivers reportedly escaped without serious injuries
Major tailbacks are being reported from Sheikh Zayed Road, with authorities and commuters confirming a two-car accident near Noor Islamic Bank, heading towards Dubai.
The accident occurred at 8.28am, with Dubai Police saying: “An accident has been reported on Sheikh Zayed Road towards Mall of Emirates and there is traffic, be careful.”
Leila tweeted: “Dubai commuters, there’s a mega traffic scene along Sheikh Zayed Road, starting from near Mall of Emirates extending till after the Al Manara street exit.
Anjaan wrote on his Twitter timeline: “Bad accident on Sheikh Zayed Road Dubai bound near Noor Islamic bank station. Both lady drivers are safe.”
One of the damaged cars appears to be a Toyota Yaris, which reportedly spun around on impact to face oncoming traffic on the major highway.
It is unclear which was the second car involved in the accident.
