The General Projects Department commenced the third stage of the unique Holy Quran Park at an estimated cost of Dh26 million.
About 51 of the 54 types of plants mentioned in the Holy Quran will be featured at Dubai’s Quran Park when its work gets completed by September 2015, the Dubai Municipality (DM) said on Sunday.
The Director-General of the DM, Hussain Nasser Lootah, said in a press statement that the General Projects Department commenced the third stage of the unique Holy Quran Park. The project’s cost is estimated at Dh26 million. “Holy Quran Park is one of the prestigious projects of the civic body. Not only the UAE, but the entire tourist world is waiting to visit the park.”
He said the project was announced on the occasion of celebrating the 1000th meeting of the technical committee of the DM. “The first stage of levelling was done using the construction waste and other reusable waste materials which saved Dh12 million.
“The park, located in Al Khawaneej area, has been specially designed in the Islamic perspective to introduce the miracles of Quran through a variety of surprises for the visitors,” he said.
Mohammed Noor Mashroom, Director of General Projects Department said the park will include all available plants mentioned in the Holy Qur’an along with facilities such as attractive main entrance, administration building, Islamic garden, children’s play areas, Umrah corner, outside theatre, areas for miracles of the Holy Qur’an, fountains, bathrooms, glass building, desert garden, palm oasis, lake, running track, cycling track and sandy walking track.
