Dubai Police urges parents to look after their children in parking areas
A three-year-old girl died and eight people were injured in six separate accidents in Dubai over the past two weeks.
Brigadier Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, Director of Traffic in Dubai Police, said the Afghan girl died in the parking area of Mamzar Park where she was run over by a car while she was accompanied by her family.
He appealed to parents not to leave children alone and pay attention to them when near the highways and parking areas.
The second accident occurred on Al Wasl Road when a Canadian woman driver hit a bicycle, seriously injuring the rider.
Another accident involved three cars due to excess speed and abrupt deviation by the drivers. One driver was seriously injured while the other two drivers sustained minor injuries.
