Dubai Carnatic Classical Music enthusiasts experienced a pleasant evening on 27.03.2015 during the music concert held at SNG Events Auditorium, Al Karama. The impressive event was gracefully presented under the stewardship of Smitha Noojibail, disciple of Vidwan Kanchana Ishwara Bhat.

Smitha performed with her students Mrs. Jayalakshmi Prasad, Ms.Sumalakshmi, Ms. Kshama Vorumudy, Ms.Shreya Shanthiprasad, Ms.Sudheeksha Manjunath, Ms.Sanjana Noojibail, Master Amith Bhat Nekkare & Master Anirudha Bhat Nekkare.

Program started with “Ninnu Kori…” a Varna by Ms.Sumalakshmi which was a heartwarming recital. Ms. Sanjana & Ms. Sudheeksha pleasantly rendered “Tarakka Bindige…” a composition by Sri Thyagaraja a popular devaranaama.
Anirudha Bhat Nekkare rendered “Rama Nee Samana Mevaru…” (Raaga Kharahara priya) in his captivating voice and was much pleasing. Ms.Khshama and Ms.Shreaya sang nicely “Thulasidala…” a composition by Sri Thyagaraja. Ms. Jayalakshmi Prasad sang “Pahi Parvata…” melodiously.

Mrs.Smitha Noojibail enthralled the audience with few power packed deliverances. She started with “Gajamukhane Siddhi Vinayakane.” (Raaga Nata) followed by “Bhuvaneshwariya…” (Raaga Mohana Kalyani), “Sogasuga Mridanga Talamu…” (Raaga Sri Ranjini), Sri Narayana Thirtha’s “Pooraya Mamakamam..” (Raaga Bila Hari), Mysore Vasudevacharya’s “Ninne Nammeeti…” (Raaga Simhendra Madhyama), “Parvathi Bhavagati…” (Raaga Shivaranjini), “Venkatachala Nilayam…” (RaagaSindhu Bhairavi), “Thillana…” a composition by Sri Balamurali Krsihna (Raaga Brindavani) made the assembled Indian Classical Music enthusiasts to listen with rapt attention and appreciated by raptures. Smitha opted ‘Simhendra Madhyama’ as main raaga to render Composition “Ninnne Nammeeti…” and presented with ease and perfection. Program concluded with group song “Rama Naama Bhajare…” (Raaga Madhymavati).

Taniavartanam by percussionist Venkatesh in Mrudanga was a quite treat to listen and appreciated by audience. Violinist Sangeeta Rajesh supported the concert in Violin.

Smitha started learning Carnatic music at the age of 10 under guidance of Shankari Tantri and she is disciple of Vidwan Kanchana Ishwara Bhat, Puttur hailing from Kanchana which is considered as home of Carnatic Classical Music in Dakshina Kannada District.

Vidwan Kanchana Ishwara Bhat is the disciple of Late.Kanchana Subbarantam whose contribution to Classical music immense. Apart from being a renowned music teacher Vidwan Kanchana Ishwara Bhat is also a famous percussionist Mrudanga artist and has the reputation of having accompanied the great artists like Dr. .Balamuralikrishna in their music concert.
