A Sudanese man and his five accomplices have been arrested by Sharjah Police for allegedly attacking six Emirati men with knives about two weeks back. The 25-year-old Sudanese suspect was being prepared to be deported after having served a jail term, said Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak Al Dukhan, Deputy Director-General, Sharjah Police.
He was allegedly contacted by an Emirati who ordered him to attack another Emirati with whom he had a fight during a previous car race. The Sudanese gathered five others [three Emiratis, aged between 21 and 25; an Iraqi, a Palestanian and a Sudanese] and attacked not only the said Emirati but others who were with him at that time.
One of the victims was seriously injured and admitted in the ICU for several days, said Brig Dukhan. The others also required hospitalization, but were discharged after a few days. The Sudanese suspect confessed to police upon arrest that he was given orders by an Emirati to attack one of the victims – Brazili – whom he had a fight with during a car race. But the gang attacked all the men who were with the target victim. Search is on for another Palestinian suspect.
