The Dubai Police have launched a hunt for culprit(s) who broke into an Indian businessman’s villa near Arabian Ranches and made away with gold and diamond jewellery worth Dh6 million last week.

Criminal Investigation Department officers and forensic experts rushed to the villa soon after the police were alerted after midnight and examined the crime scene and lifted fingerprints.

The thieves got inside villa through a window and stole the jewellery from a safe.

The businessman told the police that he and his family went out in the night. When they came back around midnight, he found the door of his bedroom open and the safe open. The gold and diamond jewellery worth Dh6 million were missing from the safe.

He said he had noticed a man roaming suspiciously near another villa in the area earlier.
