Parents of a newborn baby were given the wrong boy just before they left hospital in Saudi Arabia, prompting action by authorities against a doctor and two nurses.
After completing procedures to leave the hospital in the central town of Onaiza, the parents discovered the baby was not theirs, Sabq daily said.
It quoted hospital sources as saying the mistake was made by two nurses at the pediatric section and a doctor who signed the discharge papers.
“After investigating the incident, health authorities decided to sack the two nurses and deduct from the doctor’s monthly salary,” it said.
