‘Mahabharat’, the most popular Indian epic, will be back on the big screen, although in an animated version.
This is first time that an animated film will be done on the Holy Scripture. Some of the biggest names of Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan and Sunny Deol have dubbed for its mythological characters. The latest to join the cast is Vidya Balan.
The character of Draupadi will get Vidya Balan’s voice. Once the actress agreed to lend her voice for this character, the animation of the character was enhanced and worked upon in order to make it look closer to Vidya Balan. The actress’ attributes were added to the animated character of Draupadi so there is coordination between what the audience hears and watches on screen.
The film will be the biggest animation film and it is for the first time that the sacred book’s characters will be animated on the silver screen.
When contacted, producer Jayantilal Gada confirms the news and says, “We couldn’t have asked for a better voice for the character of Draupadi.”
