Mumbai: Vidya Balan has cut down on her film assignments after her marriage to Sidharth Roy Kapur. The makers of ‘Ek Albela’ have roped in Vidya Balan to play the role of Geeta Bali in a Marathi biopic of late actor-director Bhagwan Dada. The movie is being directed by Shekhar Sartandel.
The film traces Bhagwan Dada’s life from the age of 28 and the difficulties he faced while making his evergreen musical, ‘Albela’. The movie featured Geeta Bali, a top star of the time. Apparently, it was senior make-up artist, Vidyadhar Bhatte, who had worked with Vidya in ‘Bobby Jasoos’, suggested her name. Shekhar narrated the script to her and she immediately agreed. Since Geeta was a Hindi film star from the 50s, Vidya won’t need to speak Marathi.
