Mumbai: Actor Aamir Khan visited his close friend Salman Khan at his Bandra residence on Thursday morning, just a day after the actor was found guilty on all charges of killing a homeless man in a 2002 hit-and-run after a night out drinking. He was sentenced to five years in prison. In a breather to actor, the Bombay High Court granted him interim bail to him till May 8.
Reports stated that Salman was teary eyed when the judgement pronounced the verdict and stood silently in the dock. He stood expressionless, with his head tilted once the sentence was pronounced.
Salman’s sisters, brothers and father reportedly broke down when the verdict was announced, but the same couldn’t be said for the actor, who kept insisting that he was innocent. On hearing about the 5-year sentence, several Bollywood stars took to their social networking handles to share their shock and show their support to their ‘bhai’.
Through the years, Salman has been noted for his philanthropic work and also his good deeds in the Bollywood industry. The actor not only played guide, but also helped many aspiring actors get their break in the industry. It is no wonder that these stars beat all odds to be there by his side during his troubled time.
Actors like Preity Zinta, Sonakshi Sinha, and Salman’s former lover, Sangeeta Bijlani were some of the few early arrivals at the house. They were followed by a number of stars like Prem Chopra, Maliaka Arora Khan and Sunil Shetty, Bipasha Basu, Rani Mukherji, Karisma Kapoor, to name a few.
Bollywood new comer Pulkit Samarat, was also seen driving in last evening. The young star shot to fame, all thanks to Salman Khan who played his mentor and helped him get his big Bollywood break.
Also seen arriving at the residence were Sonu Sood, Ritesh Sidhwani, Mika Singh, Niketan, Baba Siddiqui and Chunkey Pandey among others.
