Mumbai: There is a reason why Salman Khan is called Bollywood’s ‘bhai’. The actor has not only helped launch many of the known faces in the film industry today, but is also known to mentor them and teach them tricks of the trade.

Today we learn that it isn’t just the man, but his characters as well that inspire these young batch of actors to do better. This time around, actor Varun Dhawan confessed that it was none other than Salman who inspired him to take on his dark and twisted role in ‘Badlapur’.

Reports suggest that the star took some much-needed inspiration from Salman Khan’s character Radhe from the film ‘Tere Naam’.

Transforming from a boy to a man, Varun will be seen playing the role of a father in the film. In an interview with DC he also said that television shows like Breaking Bad, Dexter and Fargo helped him to get into character for the dark role.

Salman also happened to be one of the few stars to congratulate Varun via his social networking handle, soon after the trailer of ‘Badlapur’ was released online.
