Lining up a series of fun-filled activities for pets and pet owners, Blue Cross of Hyderabad (BCH) and pet food manufacturer Pedigree are organising a ‘Pet carnival’ at N Convention Centre, Madhapur, on Sunday.
Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, co-founder of BCH Vasanthi Vadi said the event would provide an opportunity for the pet owners celebrating their special bond with their pets.
Face painting, balloon artistes, jugglers, stilt walkers, magic show, walk the ramp with pet, grooming and training tips apart from selection of well groomed dog, best fetcher and most obedient dog are some of the activities lined up for Sunday.
Adoption of pets
Actor Anushka Shetty, describing herself as an ardent pet lover, said pets bring joy. “They should be treated as our children and not left tied in a corner,” she said.
Ms. Vadi said BCH has hundreds of puppies and dogs waiting to be adopted. “We want interested and committed families to come forward and take the pets and provide them a home,” she said.
“Unless we are convinced that the family is keen and treat the pet as a member of the home, adoption is not approved,” she observed.
There are no charges to be paid for adoption of a pet at BCH, which also runs ambulance and animal rescue services
