Dubai : An Asian couple allegedly buried their newborn baby girl on Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach. According to a report in Emarat Al Youm, the child was a product of an illicit relationship. The incident came to light when the police were informed about a woman who was admitted to a government hospital after delivering a baby in Al Quoz where she worked.
Mohammed Ali Rostom, Head, Family and Society, Prosecution, said the woman sought the help of her partner in burying the baby. Meanwhile, a witness claimed that she had seen the woman give birth to the baby, which was alive.
The mother reportedly said that the baby had died a day after her birth and she, along with her partner, had buried the child on Jumeirah Beach. When the police along with forensic experts set about to search the beach in the presence of the mother, a lifeguard told the searching team that he had seen a baby’s body being swept into the sea. The police recovered the infant’s body and the mother has been reportedly charged with adultery, exposing the baby to danger, concealing the body and burying the infant without permission.
