Udupi: Dialogue with Regional Transport Officer; The moment auto metre is fixed, rate of the auto should come into force-senior citizen’s appeal

Udupi; Mar 01: While discussing with Arun Kumar Singh, regional transport officer in the dialogue, one of the senior citizens of Ajjarakadu senior citizen’s Vedhike informed that the new auto rate of Rs 16 per kilometer after one kilometer should come into force, the moment auto meter is fixed in the auto.No meter in the auto. There are  some auto drivers, who take Rs 30 even if the minimum rate is Rs 25,he said.

Another senior citizen requested that “Malpe, Kalmady, Kidiyur, Kadekar, Sampige Nagara, Alevoor, Manipal, Perampalli, Ambagilu, Malpe Ring road should be given permit to the buses to move.

Arun Kumar Singh, regional transport officer informed that measure will be taken for the clear visibility of the senior citizens even in the absence of street lights about the absence of board in the buses and name and names of the places, where buses are going.

Now remaining about the seat not given for senior citizens in the buses, which is reserved for senior citizens and about the height of bus stairs/steps discussed in the dialogue. Answering this, regional transport officer said that in the low lying areas, lower steps of the buses will affect the movement of the buses. That is why the height of the steps has been raised and about this also, he will think, he said.
