Karkala;Jan 30: Clearing operation under the leadership of Tax officials on the basis of local’s complaint was conducted on Jan 27,Monday on illegally encroached 50 acres of land with mud ditches,bearing survey N0.194 in Ballady under the jurisdiction of Mudrady panchayat.
Specialty of this illegal acquirement of government land is that even without obtaining letter of ownership around 50 houses have already been built without the knowledge of concerned department officials.It is said that Tax officials have already informed the concerned department officials to stop illegal construction of mud ditches on the said land in the past.
On Jan 27,Monday,local panchayat president along with district panchayat member Manjunatha Poojary,former panchayat president Chandrashekara Bayari,Baikady Manjunatha Rao, Revenue inspector R.M.Nayak,village accountant,PDO Veerayya and among others visited the place and after reviewing the situation carried out the clearing operation on illegally occupied government land with the co-operation of locals.
