Udupi; Jan 14: It was reported that when the students returning after attending protest held under the leadership of Akhila Bahratiya Vidhyarthi Parishat (ABVP) condemning the up-loading of the obscene pictures of female student in Face book, a social network, a sudden friction erupted between the students of another community in Kunjibettu UPMC college campus on Jan 13, Monday after noon.The police who arrived on time to the place of incident,had to resort for lathi-charge to disperse the students.
According to the sources,hundreds of students from UPMC and MGM,who participated in the protest,entered the UPMC college campus shouting slogans inside the campus,some students came forward to attack the students.This was the reason to start fracas between the students,it said.
Immediately college principal informed the police about the situation.
Udupi DYSP Dr.Prabhudeva Mane,Police inspector Maruti Nayak,who arrived to the spot of incident resorted to lathi charge under the leadership of Dinesh Kumar and dispersed the students.
