Kundapur; Dec 30: Bhatkal police have arrested four people, who were accused of looting illegal transporting of Hawla money and for the remaining accused search is in progress.
Details of the incident:
According to the sources,Rs 36 lacs Hawala money, which came from abroad by parcel was sent from Bangalore on Dec 24,previous day of Christmas by government bus was reached at Bhatkala on Dec 25,morning.The money, which reached to Bhatkal on Dec 25,was received by one shop owner in Bhatkal.After gathering the information about the receipt of the hawala money by shop owner, robbers have threatened him and snatched the entire amount of money from the shop owner and decamped.
After two days of the incident, robbery case was registered in Bhatkal city police station. The police, who seriously investigated the case and arrested four people in this connection.
Out of the four arrested, two are from Kundapur origin, a resident of Aiyappa compound in Uppunda Nandanavana village, near Bailur, Ravi alias Ravichandra (34) son of Nagaraja and other accused Irfan Hemmady,son of H.Mahammad, a resident of Hemmady Santhosh Nagar and for the arrest of another accused Hemmady’s Iqbal Saheb’s son Ilahid,police have spread their net everywhere.
Suspect uninterrupted supply of Hawala Money:
Now as the case of robbery is coming to light, in the past also Hawala money parcel from abroad was coming to Bhatkal by government bus is now openly exposed. Now in the distribution of this money, who is taking the lead role?, who is the middleman in Bangalore? and in Bhatkal to whom, it is being delivered etc, will be revealed, only after the complete investigation.
Criminal accused:
All the Kundapur origin accused, are criminals and involved in many cases. It was exposed during the investigation that the robbery plan was plotted by Uppunda’s Ravichandra. He was first trapped in Diamond smuggling case and police were in the hunt for him. In Bhatkal lavancha oil case, illegal transportation of cattles case in Byndoor’s Gantehole, 12 years ago, in the illegal transportation of wood case, seized vehicle along with woods stolen from the custody of the forest department officials and disposed off the woods in it same night and brought the vehicle back, was a notorious criminal and was in 2010,accused in deer skin illegal transportation is now constructing a house in Uppunda with the investment in millions has created a room for some doubts.
Now Irfan.when the news of his romance with his lover was exposed in video image, he came to police station to lodge a complaint. Police have confirmed that he also owns a shop in Bhatkal Chor Bazar dealing with smuggled goods.
Another accused Hemmady Ilahid, who was the part of the robbery case has been missing, was the prime accused in Gangolli bank robbery case in the past.
