Mumbai: There is little doubt that it will be a mega hit across the world. Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’ box office collection in USA will be higher than any other Indian film till now.
Top Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s forthcoming film Dhoom 3 is set to break every record of sorts when it comes to popularity. In pure business terms people believe that the film will become the highest grossing movie of Bollywood ever, with a few people saying that it may become the first Indian film to actually gross as much as Rs 500 crore in the Indian market alone. If this happens then the film will be the first true mega success for any Indian film and the collection of approximately $100 million, though still not match the success of Hollywood movies may make it look a little close. It may also become highest grossing Bollywood film in the US.
Aamir Khan is the finest actor in the country and his exploits and successes have been accepted by people the world over. The best thing about him is the fact that he doesn’t believe in walking on the beaten path and is not fearful of walking on roads less traversed by others.
The industry is very excited about his Dhoom 3 as it believes that the success will be a good omen for the Bollywood itself. Aamir Khan’s upcoming action-thriller Dhoom 3, the third instalment of the very successful Dhoom franchise is not very far from its release date and buzz about it is gaining momentum. While expectations are many from perfectionist Aamir Khan’s film, the superstar himself states that he has no expectations from ‘Dhoom 3′ in terms of box office business. Rather, he is more concerned about how the audience will receive the film. Aamir Khan, as he does with all his films, took great pains to fit in the role of the slippery baddie that he plays in the film. Besides toning his body to play the role of an acrobat, he also took tap-dance lessons from an Australian choreographer and renowned dancer Dein Perry.
The actor who is known for perfection has always worked harder than others to play his roles. He learnt ‘grumpy tap’ dance, a version more difficult than the normal tap dancing. The dance is high on energy and more difficult than the classic tap. Aamir elaborated, “I took 45-day training for tap dancing. I am not a dancer, I feel Hrithik, Govinda or Shahid would have done a better job than me. I still haven’t got it as I didn’t have the luxury to practice for a longer period. I think to learn something like this perfectly you would need two years at least.” Aamir Khan said about Dhoom 3, “I have no expectation from ‘Dhoom 3′ (about box office collection). I am not thinking about all this. It is important that audience should have a great time and love the film. Audience is not interested in numbers (box office collection) and even so I am not interested in it. It doesn’t matter to me. I believe films should touch your heart.”
But he too is feeling the burden of expectations not just from the cast of the film but from the entire industry. The stress about audience reception of Dhoom 3 has affected Aamir in such a way that he has taken up smoking again after quitting it in a display of considerable will power. He said, “I have started smoking again because of tension for ‘Dhoom 3′. I did not smoke in the last two years… I had quit it. I was on strict diet. Now, I am not only smoking but also eating lots of food. I want to give up (smoking). I want to be fit… I will give up after December 31.” He explained, “Films like ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, ‘Pyaasa’ touched me. I think films should be about story… emotions and not numbers Being ‘extremely stressed and nervous’ about the release, he is also missing working with his team and co-stars. He added, “From December 13, we all will be together again and encourage each other.” When questioned about a fourth instalment of the franchise, Aamir stated that superstar Shah Rukh Khan would do a great job if he can rope him for Dhoom 4.
