Udupi; Nov 30: In connection with Kadekar Patelthota resident Ranjitha’s murder by rejected lover Yogesh, Malpe SI Jayanth M was suspended from his duty as per the order of SP
SI failed in his duties to take action against Yogesh, the accused in Ranjitha’s murder case in spite of lodging complaint, rising protests especially by dalit organizations. The family of Ranjitha as well as leaders of dalit Sangharsha Samiti had alleged the police failure led to the incident and had put the blame squarely on Malpe SI for not taking suitable action against Yogesh despite requests and formal complaint.
However, owing to the pressure especially by dalit organizations, Malpe SI Jayant was suspended from duty in connection with fatal stabbing of Ranjitha on Nov 29, Friday night.
Cycle found on the bank of the river:
A cycle was found around 2 km away from Yogesh’s house in the river near Kadekar C.Y.resort.The cycle was recognized by the locals, as the cycle belonging to Yogesh, the accused in Ranjitha’s murder case. This river is in between Kadekar and Padukere, when the high tide and low tide occurs in the sea, in this river also high tide and low tide occur during the same time.
It was on Nov 29, Friday evening during low tide time, locals spotted one side of the cycle. When circle inspector Maruti G Nayak along with his police team arrived to the spot, the cycle was removed out from the river with the help of locals.
The cycle was found around 40 feet away from the bank of in the state of burial. It was suspected that as the river was with full of slush,(mud) he could not ride the cycle, he left the cycle there and gone. The road was ending near C.Y resort. Cycle was located around 100 metre away from C.Y.resort. Now the question baffling the police was whether yogesh has committed suicide or sped away?
