Bajal youth meets suspicious death in an accident at Saudi

Mangalore, Nov 22: A youth from Bajal in Mangalore who was working at Alkhobar in Saudi Arabia has died under mysterious circumstances on the night of Wednesday November 20. Several suspect this to be a case of murder.

The deceased is identified as Asif (26), son of Abdur Rehman and Saramma from Bajal.

As per the information obtained, Asif was working for Live Safari Bird centre in Aqrabia near Al-Khobar. It is learnt that after work at around 12.30 am, Asif left home in the company car. Then he was found unconscious on Wednesday morning at a spot about 25 km from Aqrabia. Locals who saw him lying there informed the police and he was later taken to King Fahad hospital.

Though Asif had reportedly regained consciousness and even passed on the phone numbers of his friends to the police, he again lost consciousness and died at around 10.30 pm on November 20, Wednesday.

Asif suffered injuries on his waist and head. Doctors who treated him surmised that he might have been hit by a car. Though Asif’s car key and mobile phone were with him, the car is missing. His friends suspect that Asif was murdered and police are investigating the matter.

Asif who was working as a bus conductor in Mangalore went to Saudi four-and-a-half years ago. He had been hometown two years ago and was planning to return hometown shortly

He was the youngest of the five children of his parents.
