MUSCAT — The 10th building and construction exhibition (BUILDEX 2013) will kick-off at Oman International Exhibition Centre tomorrow under the auspices of Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Commerce and Industry. The three-day exhibition will be organised by Omanexpo with participation of more than 150 companies specialised in building and construction, besides the local and international participation for more than 18 countries from Turkey, Germany, Italy, Egypt, Jordan, Taiwan, Singapore and India among other countries.

The exhibition comes to support the major progress for infrastructure projects in the Sultanate as they managed to attract big companies around the world to view the available investment opportunities. The Omani government is going ahead with expanding its activities at various levels in line of the Sultanate’s economic vision 2020. On the sidelines of the exhibition, Big Show 2013 will be held. It will present a number of working papers that study impact of the local culture on construction in the Sultanate, as well as impact of the major building movement on the general shape of the environment.
