TIGER Woods has officially confirmed he has a new birdie – and showed photos of him and stunning world-champion skier Lindsey Vonn on Facebook.
After months of speculation, the golf ace finally confirmed the rumours of a relationship with Lindsey – who bears a striking resemblance to ex-wife Elin Nordegren. Woods wrote on his Facebook page which has 2.7 million likes: “This season has been great so far and I’m happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that’s happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. “Lindsey and I have been friends for some time but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating.” Woods posted a series of cheesy pictures of the pair gazing lovingly at each other. Within hours the post had received nearly 10,000 likes and hundreds of fans had sent best wishes.
Lindsey, 28, wrote on her Facebook page: “I guess it wasn’t a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy.” She added: “I don’t plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV”.
The golf champion also said he would like to continue their relationship as an “ordinary couple”. Woods, 37, has managed to avoid any public relationships since his numerous affairs were revealed in 2009. He divorced his wife, Elin, 33, in 2010 after six years of marriage. Lindsey’s divorce to ex-husband Thomas Vonn was finalised in January this year after four years of marriage.
