8 killed after four boggies of passenger train derail in Maharashtra

Mumbai: Eight people were killed and several others injured after four compartments of the Diwa-Sawantwadi Passenger train were derailed between Nagothane and Roha stations in Maharashtra’s Raigad district on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at around 10 am in a tunnel near Nidi village.

The exact number of the injured is not known, however, rescue operations are on to save the victims. More details into the accident are awaited.

Railway traffic on the Konkan railway network has also been paralysed because of the accident.
