Bengaluru: Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda’s son Karthik faces arrest after a court in Bengaluru issued an arrest warrant against him for raping and cheating model-actress Mythriya Gowda.

The police last Friday had issued a notice to Karthik Gowda asking him to appear before the investigating officer for questioning.

Cops had questioned Mythria the day before and reportedly obtained evidence to corroborate her claims. The recording of the statement on Thursday started at about 12 noon and went on until 12 in the night.

Officers went to house of Mr Sadananda Gowda in Sanjay Nagar on Friday and found that no family member was present. The police served summons for Karthik on the house staff, asking them to inform their employer about the notice. City Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi said the police were investigating and the accused had been summoned. “We will take necessary action and even arrest him if necessary” he had said.

Karthik Gowda filed an anticipatory bail application before the city civil and sessions court through his advocate on Saturday.

Mythriya’s complaint came hours after Karthik got engaged to a woman at a ceremony in Kodagu on August 27. Mythriya’s whatsapp status the night before read “Happy Birthday Karthik”.
