Three days ahead of the Congress Coordination Committee meeting, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held a dinner meeting with senior Ministers at his residence on Saturday.

Although sources said the meeting was to discuss the Cabinet expansion by taking senior Ministers into confidence, the Chief Minister’s Secretariat said it was an informal dinner with groups of Ministers that will go on for the next two days. K. Shiva Kumar, Roshan Baig, K.J. George, Mahadevappa and Ramalinga Reddy attended the dinner meeting. Sources said that in the wake of the recent outburst of Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa that the government lacked transparency, efforts were on to ensure that the differences do not show up in the coordination committee meeting on Tuesday.
