Bangalore(DHNS):Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday hit out at the JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy on his statement that all political parties demand bribe in Legislative Council elections, saying that he has been making allegations against others as he could not defend himself.
“If a cat drinks milk closing its eyes, does it mean that the entire world is not watching it? Mistake is a mistake. Corruption is corruption. If he (Kumaraswamy) says other parties are also doing it, it is not a defence at all,” he stated to a question by reporters on Kumaraswamy’s statement.
The chief minister was speaking after garlanding the statue of late Babu Jagjivan Ram on his 28 death anniversary at the Vidhana Soudha.
He, however, refused to comment about the allegation that the JD(S) leader had demanded Rs 20 crore bribe in the recent Legislative Council elections, saying that he has not heard the conversation in the CD.
But he said people will teach a proper lesson to all those who indulge in illegal acts.
Truth cannot be kept hidden for long. It has to come out and it comes out sooner or later, he added.
