Stream of visitors at Raj Bhavan

Bangalore: H R Bhardwaj, the outgoing governor, made way for the incoming governor K Rosaiah by vacating the Raj Bhavan on Saturday evening.

Minister Ramalinga Reddy saw him off at the Kempegowda International Airport at around 4.30 pm.

Bhardwaj, along with his wife Prafulla, left in an Indian Airlines flight for Delhi.

Though Bhardwaj demitted office, with his five-year term ending on Saturday, technically he will continue to be the governor till Rosaiah assumes office at 9 am on Sunday.

It is said that his personal secretary Tiwari and Officer on Special Duty Vijaykumar left along with Bhardwaj. His personal belongings have been sent by train.

A few rooms in Raj Bhavan will get a whitewash in a couple of days.

There was a stream of visitors to Raj Bhavan on Saturday, from morning till Bhardwaj left.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met him and presented him a ‘zari‘ shawl and a Mysore Peta.

Later, it was the turn of Chief Secretary Kaushik Mukherjee and a host of top police officers to call on the governor.

In the evening, Ministers Roshan Baig and Ramalinga Reddy met and wished him.

Rosaiah, who is going to be the in-charge governor, is scheduled to take oath of office at 9 am on Sunday.

Chief Secretary Mukherjee and DG&IGP L R Pachuau welcomed Rosaiah at the airport when he arrived at around 9 pm on Saturday.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will attend the ceremony to be held at Raj Bhavan.
