RAMYA-1

Bangalore: Congress leader L R Shivarame Gowda has hit back at film actress-turned-politician Ramya over her allegation that she lost the Lok Sabha election from Mandya because of the infighting in the party.

Addressing reporters in Bangalore on Wednesday, along with a host of party leaders from Mandya, Gowda said that Ramya lost because she failed to take local leaders into confidence.

Ramya could get five lakh votes because Congress leaders worked unitedly. But now, she has complained to the high command that she could not retain the seat because of infighting.

“She has demanded an inquiry against many local leaders. Let there be an inquiry against Ramya too,” he said.

Gowda said Ramya won the by-election in Mandya, which was considered a JD(S) stronghold.

If she had got along well with all the local leaders, she could have won this time too with a margin of at least two lakh votes.
