Earlier, the High Court had pulled up the police for failing to trace the girl

A week after they were pulled up for failing to trace two girls who had been missing for the past four months, the police on Tuesday produced one of the girls before the High Court of Karnataka.

On a query by a vacation Division Bench, comprising Justice Mohan M. Shantanagoudar and Justice B. Manohar, the girl told the court that she had married and had left the city.

Meanwhile, the government advocate said that the girl, a resident of Balaji Layout in Kodigehalli police limits, was traced to Chennai. The advocate also told the court that she was 17 years and 10 months old when she was reported missing but is a major now as per law.

As the girl said that she was prepared to go with her parents for now, the Bench asked her parents to present her before the police station on Wednesday morning for the procedure to be followed as per law.

Meanwhile, the police sought two more weeks to trace the other girl, reported missing from Srirampuram police limits.
