The Mahadevapura police have arrested Balaji Singh (55), an unemployed man, for attempting to kill his wife by crushing her head with a grinding stone on Thursday.
The victim, Lakshmi Bai, who is a domestic help, was rushed to Vydehi Hospital.
The police said the couple’s son Devandra Singh lodged a complaint based on which Balaji Singh was arrested.
Woman killed
A woman identified as Prema Kumari (50) died on the spot and her husband, Somaiah, was injured when a truck knocked down their two-wheeler near Jalahalli junction here on Thursday.
