I will speak in Kannada in Parliament: Puttaraju

The former MLA, C.S. Puttaraju, who is contesting on Janata Dal (Secular) ticket from the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, said he would speak in Kannada in Parliament if elected.

Addressing party workers at Maddur on Wednesday, he said has requested voters to elect someone who can speak Kannada. He said he would raise topics such as the plight of sugarcane growers and farmers in Parliament sessions.

Along with D.C. Thammanna, Maddur MLA, and other leaders, he conducted roadshows in Gejjalagere, Valagerahalli, Sollepura, Rampur, Besagarahalli, Pannedoddi, N. Kodihalli, Seenappanadoddi, Chikka Ankanahalli, Dodda Ankanahalli, Hebberelu, Navile, Hoothagere, Mallanakuppe, Dundanahalli, Kesturu, Thoreshetty Halli, Hemmanahalli, Kadaluru, Nidhaghatta, Rudrakshipura, Thailuru, D. Hosuru, Honnalagere, K. Beluru, Kolagere Gate, Chandupura, Thorebommanahalli and Kalamuddana Doddi.

A group of women carrying stacks of grass on their heads, symbolising the JD(S) icon, attracted the interest of residents during the campaign. They requested the residents to vote for Mr. Puttaraju.
