Bangalore, Nov 17, 2013, DHNS: The sudden showers that surprised the Ciy on Saturday have kept the BJP workers and fans of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on tenterhooks as Bangalore is expected to receive rain on Sunday too.

At the Palace Grounds, where Modi is scheduled to address a public meeting on Sunday, no shelter has been provided to protect the crowd from rain. Only the stage from which the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate will address the gathering has a roof. The VVIP and media enclosures, too, have no top cover.

B Puttanna, director, Indian Meteorological Department, Bangalore, said that the depression over the Southwest of Bay of Bengal entered Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu on Saturday afternoon.

“It has already begun drizzling in Bangalore and other districts of south Karnataka. We expect moderate to heavy rains in Bangalore on Sunday. In the next 24 hours (from Saturday afternoon), the temperature is expected not to cross 24 degrees. It is going to be cloudy for most part of the day on Sunday and Monday too,” he said.
