ROADBANGALORE, August 28:  BBMP Commissioner M. Lakshminarayan has assured Upa Lokayukta Subhash B. Adi that the repair of all major roads in the city will be completed within six months. The assurance came after Mr. Adi conducted a surprise inspection of Hosur and Viveknagar main roads on Tuesday.

Mr. Lakshminarayan also assured the Upa Lokayukta that on Thursday the BBMP will start demolition of illegal structures that have encroached parts of Hosur Road, impeding the road widening project.

“The widening work will start simultaneously with the demolition,” Mr. Adi said.

Mr. Adi also inspected the storm water drain at Madiwala, which the BWSSB plans to rid of sewage. “I have been assured that the bifurcation [sewage and rain water] of drains in the city will be completed by 2014,” he said.
