Maddur: Congress candidate Ramya shook off some of the sadness of losing her father, reaching out to people as she campaigned with former chief minister S.M. Krishna at Maddur. As the actress walked through the crowd, she quoted social reformer Basavanna.
“Thande neennu, thayyi neennu, bandhubalaga neennu, (you are my parents and relatives, my future is in your hands)” indirectly targeting the JD(S) who had mocked her.
Most ecstatic was a farmer who donated Rs 1,000 towards her campaign and saw Ramya fall at his feet in thanks!
