Mangalore, Aug 31: The 11th Ganeshotsava festival celebrated by Shree Siddivinayaka Prathistana and Sarvajanika Ganeshotsav Samti, Omkaranagara, Bunts Hostel concluded with colorful shobhayatra on August 31, Sunday under the leadership of managing trustee Maladi Ajith Kumar Rai KodialGuthu.
Bangalore Bunts Sangha president Dr Naresh Shetty flagged off the procession. MCC Mayor Mahabala Marla participated as the chief guest.
Former minister B Nagaraj Shetty, convener of Prathibhaneshwana Smt. Asha Jyoti Rai, Manjunath Bhandary Shiddai, Nitteguthu Raviraj Shetty, Krishna Prasad Rai Bellipady, K. Balakrishna Shetty Bellibettu Guthu, Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samithi president Ulipady Gutthu Rajesh Naik, general secretary Diwakar Samani, Treasurer Krishnaraj Sulaya, Shashiraj Shetty Kolambe, Srinivas Alva, Suresh Rai, Sandeep Shetty, Umesh Rai, Jagannath Shetty Bala and others were present.
The colorful Shobhayatra commenced from Omkara Nagar and passed through Bunts Hostel Circle, P.V.S, Dongarkeri, Newchitra theatre, Carstreet, Venkataramana temple and culminated at Carstreet after the idol is immersed in Mahammayee Temple Lake.
Thousands of devotees participated in the procession which passed through various roads accompanied with colourful tableaux, chande and over 50 groups of Bhajan troupe.
