Mangalore, August 17: In the Karnataka state power lifting competition which took place at Mangalore city, Vinod Raj from Balaanjaneya gymnasium Mangalore was awarded as the Strong man and Chaitra from Nitte Education trust has been awarded as Strong women.
Balaanjaneya gymnasium team from Mangalore has won the Championship under Men’s wing. Alvas College Moodbidri has secured the second place.
Under Women’s wing, Alvas college team from Moodbidri has won the championship and SDM sports club has won the second place.
Under Men’s 93 kg power lifting competition, first place goes to Azam Ali and second place goes to Arshad Ulla from Super Body team –Bangalore. Arjun Kiran M.A of Alwas Jim brags the third place.
Under 105 kg group, Sujay Janardhan and Mohammad Azam of Super Body team have bragged the first and second place respectively.
In 120kg group, Vinod Raj of Balanjaneya Jim stands first, N. Subramanya of super body team wins the second place and Harshad Ali from Dharwad wins the third place.
Under the plus 120kg group, super body Raghavendra from Bangalore brags the first place, Prateek Tej Raj of Balaanjaneya Mangalore wins the second place and Alwin John Monis of Alvas Jim wins the third place.
Womens group: Under the 47kg group, Chaitra from Nitte wins the first place, Sushma T.S from Alvas Moodbidri wins the second place and Tushmitha M.V form S.D.M Ujre wins the third place.
Under the 52Kg group, Shodhana N from Alvas wins the first place,Laxmi B from S.D.M Ujre wins the second place and Arpitha from Alwas wins the third place.
Under the 57kg group, Alvas team brags the three places. Thoi Thoi Devi, Deekshitha I.E and Parveen Surkod won the first, second and third place respectively.
Under the 63kg group, Arena Devi from Alvas, Soujanya Salian from Nitte and Shruthi H.N from Alvas brag the first second and third place respectively.
Under the 72kg group, Prajna B and Shalini G from Alvas brag the first and second places and the third place goes to Surekha from S.D.M Ujre.
Under the 84kg group Akhila from S.D.Mwins the first place, Usha B.N from Alvas second and the third place goes to Akshatha.
Karnataka Power Lifting Association Mangalore and Karlos Jim Bajjodi under their association 40th Mens and 32nd Womens Karnataka state Senior Power lifting -2014 was organized at Town Hall Mangalore.
The competitions had begun on Saturday and the prizes were distributed on Sunday evening.
The closing ceremony was organized under the Chairmanship of Mahabala Marla, the Mayor of Mangalore City Corporation, Ex-Minister Krishna Palemar was invited as the Chief guest, Ex-MLA VijayKumar Shetty, Member of the New Mangalore Port Trust Tejomaya, Vinod Kumar, Tulu film director Ashwith Kottari, Vice President of Karnataka Power Lifting Association PurandaraDas Kuloor, Retired Bank Official V. Krishnamurthi Rao, President of Karlos Jim Vincent Prakash Karlo and Naveen Kumar were present in the occasion.
The guests were welcomed by Jayaram the treasurer of Karnataka Power Lifting Association. Mr Satish kumar Kudroli addressed the gathering.
