PM Rajeev Gandhi’s death anniversary: District Congress pays tributes

Mangalore, May 21:  Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi’s death anniversary was marked by a rich tribute by the members of District Congress, at a function organized at the District Congress Office in the city on May 21, Wednesday.


B Ramanatha Rai and other party leaders garlanded the portrait of the late prime minister. In his address, Rai certified India’s progress to the intuitive policies implemented during the tenure of Rajeev Gandhi. He also recalled the emphasis laid on Panchayatraj by the late prime minister with the objective of decentralization of power.


A minute’s silence was observed in the meeting honoring the soul of Gangadhar Suvarna, a party leader who died in a road mishap recently.
