Mangalore, April 23: Addressing the media reporters in the press meet held on April 22, Monday, Harsha Gupta, DC cum district election officer said in his speech that M C M C Samiti has been formed in view of reaching to electors in association with group of medias and to keep a eye on the candidates and to monitor and maintain a register for all the expenses incurred.
Presiding over the daily meeting of M C M C, in this regard being held at’ Vartha department’ he said one cable news channel has already been engaged in this activities and has been directed to issue notice to the erring candidates, he said.
He also said, discussion on the mode of reaching photos of all the candidates to the media office, without any prominence of the news being circulated along with the candidate’s photo, about the local channels which circulates the same news throughout twenty four hours continuously for 4-5 days, a stringent action will be taken on all the offenders, he reiterated.
Apart from all these, discussion on ‘news for money’, candidates who are engaged in fictitious canvas just to lure electors and show as their election expense, will be treated as crime and dealt with sternly, he added.
Dr.Harish,MCC Commissioner and among others were present in the meet and suggested their views in this regard.
