Mangalore, Mar 12: In an untoward incident took place at Kinnigoli bus stand on March 12, Wednesday, a bus driver was assaulted by the bus owner, affecting bus services towards Kinnigoli for some time .
It is learnt that, Durgaprasad Shetty, owner of Laxmi Janardhan Travels and president of Kinnigoli regional unit of Dakshina Kannada District Bus Owners’ Association assaulted Hassan from Ullanje, a bus driver of Adi Janardhan Travels over the frequent frictions of timing.
Reportedly, Durgaprasad Shetty had blocked the entry of Adijanardhana Travels bus when it was entering Kinnigoli bus stand, by taking his motor bike in front. Although Hassan tried to stop the bus immediately, he lost control over the vehicle and hit it against Shetty’s two-wheeler.
Getting angry on the incident, Shetty attacked Hassan and in return Hassan filed complaint at the police station in connection to the incident. In relation to the incident, Hassan’s colleagues stopped their buses and condemned the act.
Mulky Police arrived on the spot and supervised law and order.
