Surathkal: The activists of Hindu Jagarana Vedike attacked the Surathkal police station on Sunday, February 23 claiming that the police allegedly entered the houses of few hindu activists on Saturday and detained few for thrashing a boy on Friday at Mallamar beach, Surathkal for molesting a minor girl belonging to another community.
Ramesh S, Mangalore north BJP president stated “the police on Saturday mid-night entered the house of few hindu youth and detained them without valid proof. This provocative step by the police may lead into the communal disturbance within the region. Such action by the police is not acceptable”.
Corporator Gunashekar Shetty, Sumitra, Ganesh Hosabettu, Vasudeva Gowda, Jayaram Achar, Rajesh Kottary, Varun Chowta, Vasanth Hosabettu and others were present.
