Udupi; Feb 21: The green signal has been received for two additional express trains’ i.e.Chamaraja-Bangalore and Chikamaglur-Bangalore in this year’s central government’s railway budget.
In the railway budget, this was approved yesterday in Rajya Sabha, it was agreed to start additional express train’s service.
It was said that due to relentless efforts of MPs Dhruvanarayan and K.Jayaprakash Hegde, these trains have been obtained. Both the MPs have complimented union railway minister Mallikarjun Kharge for giving two additional trains to the state. Besides on Feb 23, afternoon 3.30 pm, union railway minister Mallikarjun Kharge will show green signal for the train service between Mangalore-Madgaon and Mangalore-Kachiguda, informed Jayaprakash Hegde.
Inauguration:
B.G.Ghatge, senior public relation officer of Konkan Railway Corporation, said in his press release that for the train, which was approved in the last budget and will be starting on Feb 23, Sunday, union railway minister Mallikarjun Kharge will show green signal for Mangalore-Madgaon-Mangalore superfast train service on Feb 23 at 3.30 pm at Mangalore Central railway station.
On Feb 23, this train will run as special train and from the following day onwards it will start its daily journey.
It was told in the press release that Trains timings, train number 22636 leaves from Mangalore central railway station daily morning at 8.15 am to Madgaon and reaches Madgaon at 2.00 pm in the afternoon. While in the return journey, train number will become 22635 and leaves from Madgaon at 4.15 pm in the evening and will reach Mangalore central railway station at 10.00 pm in the night.
This train will stop at Thokur,Suratkal,Udupi,Kundapur,Byndoor Mookambika road,Bhatkal,Kumta,Karwar,Kanakona.In this train one AC chair car,14 chaircar,2 luggage cum brake van and one pantry car will be there, said Konkan railway release.
This special train which leaves at 3.30 pm in the afternoon from Mangalore on the day of inauguration will arrive Madgaon at 10.15 pm in the night.
