Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya to boycott election against Netravati diversion project

Mangalore, Feb 21: Dinesh Holla, an environmentalist and member of Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya said that despite of staging several protest, Dr. Veerappa Moily is playing a game in the lives of Dakshina Kannada people by supporting the Netravati River diversion project.

Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Feb 21, Friday he said that former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda had initiated the Netravati River diversion project, hence now he is hesitating to contest for the upcoming elections from Dakshina Kannada, since he is sure to lose because of his project plan. Apart from it, minister for forest and ecology and district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai has also been supporting the project, he added.

Holla also urged the people of Dakshina Kannda to boycott candidates from Congress and the BJP, since they have failed to protect the interest of people of Dakshina Kannada.

In connection to it, the members of committee will visit very house in the district and create awareness among the people about boycotting the elections, he said.

Rajesh Devadiga, Madhav Ullal, Dinesh Kodialbail and Harish Adyar were present among others.
