Mangalore, Feb 5: A 10th standard boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling at his residence in Bejai on February 4, Tuesday.
The deceased identified as Nihal Shetty (16), son of Naveen Shetty and Poornima Shetty couple Pinto’s Lane, Bejai committed suicide after being scolded by his father for not studying, while his exams were nearing.
Nihal took this extreme step when his parents had gone to the temple and younger brother went to school.
The case has been registered at Kadri Police and investigation is on.
