Mangalore :Campus front of India, Karnataka State is organizing Anti Fascist day on 30th Jan 2014 across the state on the eve of Mahatma Gandhiji’s 66th death anniversary.

January 30, 1948 a day India will never forget, during evening prayer an assassin sent by fascist forces shot dead Mahatma Gandhi at point blank range. This dastardly crime sent a message that democracy, secularism, non-violence and social justice are abhorrence to the fascists groups and they would go to any extent to undermine the foundations of the republic, . Mahatma Gandhi, the tallest of the devout and practicing Hindus, was killed in cold blood because he along with the majority of Indian people embraced secular democracy rejecting the sectarian ideology of Hindutva groups and other major reason was Gandhiji, Nehru and majority of Indian National Congress did not allow the fascist Sangh Parivar to make India a Hindutva Rashtra , their dream was busted out when the people of this country said that India belongs to one and all, caste, religion, creed and race is not a matter of importance and most of the prominent Indian freedom fighters believed that  Sangh Parivar was the main reason for the division of India in 1947.

But regrettably today fascist agenda has already gained its entry in all streams and section of the society, be it education, bureaucracy, legislation, politics, police, media or judiciary. Indian fascism adopted vicious methods such as riots, authority of caste, religion, national security and extreme nationalism to remain in power or to acquire power, with a concept of totalitarian government through violence and intimidation to control the people, post independence history is replete with systematic attacks on Muslims, Dalits, Christians and OBCs from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, from Gujarat to Assam, from Kandhamal to Karavalli and from MuzaffarNagar to Coimbatore, Fascist forces and sangh parivars want to divide this country again, hence campus front of India invitees all and everyone to fight fascism and defend republic, It must be born in mind that fascism can never be defeated only through strategy or by political bargaining. Its defeat can be achieved only by isolating it through mass  struggle ,through proper education and  by dismantling the existing system of exploitation and replacing it with a more decent, humane and egalitarian  democracy. There can be no short cuts. Its time yet again we buckle up ourselves for another freedom struggle, for a new revolution, which, for sure will need sacrifice. Liberation through education and agitation is not a part-time job.

On this occasion, Campus Front of India demands the Government of India to remove the portrait of V D Savarkar hung opposite to Gandhi’s in the Parliament by submitting memorandum in every district. It is a shame to the people of India and to this country to have a portrait of a man known for his virulent Hindutva ideology in the Parliament. He was one of the accused in the mahatma Gandhi Assassination Case. He never participated in the freedom struggle in true sense. He led a comfortable life when thousands of freedom fighters were giving up their lives for Indian independence. Godse was his devoted follower.

On this Occasion Campus Front of India D.K District will do the proceeding with candle light march  from M.G Road near empire mall to lalbagh Gandhi stachu from7 pm onward tomorrow / 30th Jan 2014 in evening, handbill distribution, hence we invite you to this program and cover the same in your esteem media channel and newspaper.
