Mangalore, Jan 25: Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim gives a visit to the District Wenlock Hospital and instructed the staffs and management to solve various problems faced by the patients.
DC, who participated in the Executive Committee meeting of the Arogya Raksha Samithi at the hospital, directed the District Medical Officer to make a master plan for the overall development of the Wenlock hospital.
He also criticized contractor for his failure in constructing 15 bed emergency ward of the hospital even after three years of making the payment of Rs 14.22 lakhs out of sanctioned Rs 17.45 lakhs by the government. He also said that the hospital must cancel the contract and lodge complaint with the Consumer Forum.
Wenlock Superintendent Dr Rajeshwari, put forth various problems of the hospital like water and underground drainage problem, in turn DC assured to take necessary measures after consulting the MCC Commissioner.
While the medical officer informed DC that the estimate budget of the hospital’s jail ward extension has been increased from Rs 1.3 crores to Rs 1.52 crores.
