Mangalore, Jan 18, 2014 : The NaMo Brigade which has strongly condemned the statement of senior Congress leader Mani Shanker Iyer belittling Gujarat CM and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, distributed tea free of cost in Kadri Park, Pumpwell and Canara College areas in the city on January 18, Saturday as part of ‘Chaiwala for PM’ campaign.
The protest was inaugurated by Irfan Iqbal Ghatta, a Gujarati Muslim who resides in Bangalore.
The novel protest was in retaliation to Iyer’s statement that “Modi can never become the prime minister and arrangements would be made for him to tell tea at the Congress session to be held on January 17 if he wishes so.”
M Naresh Shenoy, Convenor of NaMo Brigade has said that the Brigade would launch similar protests across the nation and will prove that even a tea selling man can become the prime minister of the country.
