Mangalore / Kundapur, Jan 14: An anti-naxal force constable has shot himself to death himself to death in the forest area on Jan 13, Monday night.
The deceased constable has been identified as Albert D’Souza (38) son of Adam D’souza, hailing from Puttur.
According to the sources, Albert was good natured man and hardworking and has been working with the ANF from last eight years. After his vacation, Albert who joined the duty on January 12, Sunday was posted in ANF camp at Amasebail.
Albert was to get engaged to a girl hailing from Madikeri, working as a nurse in Bangalore on January 24.
Reportedly, he had called home and spoke normally to his family, but had some argument with his fiancée on Monday night at 11.30 pm and ended his life by shooting himself with self-loaded rifle.
His body was taken to Wenlock Hospital for post mortem.
A case has been registered in this regard in Amasebail police station and investigation is on.
